Service Transition

Deploying new and changed services -- as defined within the service strategy -- into operational production includes the business applications, as well as the skills, processes, technologies and partners required to deliver the agreed upon design to meet customer requirements.

CPP provides Service Transitional services that encompass the following activities:

  • Change Management:
Changes to IT assets without proper controls puts your business at risk. Developing formal processes that include recording and tracking, planning, prioritization, evaluating, testing and documenting provides stability, control and compliance.
  • Asset and Configuration Management:
Deploying a centralized system helps identify, control and account for assets -- called configuration items (CIs) -- and their relationships to the business for strategic services
  • Knowledge Management:
Providing the right knowledge to the right person at the right time improves quality, efficiency and reduces costs of supporting business services.
  • Transition Planning and Support:
Effective planning and coordination of resources while controlling failure and disruption that are common in transitioning services is difficult to perform between each phase of the ITIL lifecycle. Careful planning and organizational awareness and buy-in with key stakeholders is necessary
  • Release and Deployment Management:
Releasing and deploying strategic services & assets into operation with a repeatable process insures speed, supportability and knowledge transfer while minimizing risk and possibly increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Service Validation and Testing:
Are your services validated prior to release to ensure that they meet the specifications outlined during design? Applied throughout the lifecycle, this phase tests and validates that services meet requirements, Service Level Agreements and are fit for purpose and use by the business.
